Emmett Chapman says, about the CD:
"(The songs) fit together to somehow define a new approach to instrumental composition, from fresh sounding effects to seemingly novel recording routines.
For Stick enthusiasts, this will definitely be a "new game in town" - new harmonic progressions, rhythms, sonics and attitude."

             THE MUSIC
This CD, quite unlike others of Tony's, features the Chapman Stick in both instrumental and vocal pieces.
King Crimson drummer Pat Mastelotto has a big presence on the album, and early listeners are saying it has a very Crimson-like feel.
There is an abundance of music here - 17 tracks.

From Tony:
"A lot of high energy in this music. And I've tried new approaches to writing - aided a lot by Scott Schorr's re-mixing.
The Chapman Stick is featured a lot, but there are also appearances by every bass and cello I own (in addition to keys, ocarina, digeridoo, and anything else in my collection!)"

Who’s that knockin’ at my door?
Don’t know that I’ve seen you before.
Oh, I could never forget that face.
Come on in and welcome to my place.
Say, I’d like to play with you some more.
What you doin’ standing by the door?
Hey, don’t feel you have to go away,
I am feeling a bit conflicted today.
Airplane sliding through the inky sky
highway, an amoeba on it’s slide
Trains beneath the pavement watch the tunnels slip by
All sailing to the city in a slow glide
In pixellated passages there are corridors of hope
Doors with destinations to decide
Through canyons of corruption, both up and down the slope
We traverse our little landscape in a slow glide
You can liberate your life from it’s sticky routine
Manacles are fastened from the inside
Vistas in the distance still remaining to be seen
as we fall into our future in a slow glide
Every man falls down
Tries to find his way
Is found
His way is here with us now
And finds
his way
is not alone

This night out on the sea alone
no earthly place to hide
I can feel the weight of the waters below
we are pebbles neath the moon-tugged tide
Then I find my fellow travellers
glimmers in the wind-fell night
And I follow them like beacons
we are rivers of light, rivers of light

I thought I saw a vision
written bold across the sky
Saw the holy human history
was the truth of it and not the lie, not the lie
Our future too came blazing through
could blind my squinted eye
Only a poet or a prophet
reads those stars and knows the way to cry, way to cry

Refine that silver liquid
distill it to a dream
and behold the soul remaining there
how it shivers like a sun-borne stream
And sing with me now to this thundering sea
we're out too deep to fight
Do you hear the voices joining us
we are rivers of light, rivers of light
